Memphis, Tenn. - Jan Harbor, president and director of Crye-Leike Relocation Services - Memphis and the Mid-South Region, was a presenter at the 2001 Annual RELO? Conference held in Chicago, Illinois. The conference is an international meeting that attracts nearly 900 brokers and relocation professionals from domestic and international leading independent real estate firms.
Harbor presented information on the special needs of homebuyers who are transferred because of corporate relocations. As an expert in this area, she further emphasized the value of transferring homebuyers to use accredited buyer representatives (ABRs) who excel in buyer representation during the home buying or selling process.
"When a family relocates to a new area because of a corporate transfer, they usually arrive in an area 'blind'," said Harbor. "They are not familiar with the neighborhoods, traffic patterns, schools or market values. They are insecure in their knowledge of the area....

Chattanooga, Tenn. - Jennifer Newton, vice president and director of Crye-Leike Relocation Services - East Tennessee Region, has earned the certified relocation professional (CRP) designation from the Employee Relocation Council, a professional membership association concerned with domestic and international employee transfers. The CRP program recognizes Newton's knowledge of the entire relocation industry and requires awareness of residential real estate and appraising, corporate relocation policies and issues, relocation tax and legal issues, and family relocation issues.
There are 4,913 Employee Relocation Council (ERC) members who hold the CRP designation. Newton was one of 521 who was awarded the designation during the May administration of the 2001 exam. ERC members must earn 30 re-certification credits within each three-year period following certification to maintain their CRP designation.

Harbor joins more than 18,000 real estate professionals in North America who have earned the ABR designation. The requirements for this coveted designation include a comprehensive two-day course in buyer representation, a written examination on legal and practical aspects of client representation and practical experience in the field of buyer representation.

Crye-Leike Relocation Services recently received seven member achievement awards from RELO, the largest relocation referral network of leading independent real estate firms in the United States.
Crye- Leike Relocation Services of Nashville and Crye-Leike Relocation Services of Memphis both received Awards of Excellence for exceeding the network's referral performance standards in successfully closing real estate transactions outside of Crye-Leike's service area. They also were recognized as one of the top 50 real estate companies in the United States to close outgoing referrals, out of the 1,000 member RELO companies.
Additionally, Crye-Leike Relocation Services of Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville all were inducted into RELO's 1999 Million Dollar Club for sending or closing a minimum $1 million referral from the RELO Network.
